If you’re staying put in your house or even are confined to a room, it can be difficult to fill each day with meaningful, worthwhile activities. If anything, COVID-19 has made the world a more creative and innovative place as we learn to adjust to our surroundings constantly. We’re here to share our ideas of what you can do while you’re quarantined.
1. Clean, Sort & Organize
If you’ve been putting off your deep cleaning for the year, now’s the time to get it done. Go through each room in the house and ditch what you no longer need, sanitizing the space while you’re at it.
2. Spend Time Exercising
You may not be able to hit the gym like normal, but there’s nothing quite like a quick, at-home workout! Find a YouTube video you’ll enjoy or even start a two-week workout plan to follow.
3. Try Out New Recipes
With all this extra time, now’s your chance to whip up that dish you were unsure about and see how it tastes. It may become your new family favorite!
4. Plan a Trip for the Future
While traveling the world may seem like a distant dream at this point, someday your vacation wishes will come true. Make a bucket list of the places you want to go once it’s safe.
5. Get into Arts & Crafts
Pinterest is your new best friend, especially if you have little ones to quarantine with. Find some fun DIY activities and get to crafting.
6. Take This Time to Relax
Maybe this time spent quarantined is just the break you needed from the business of life. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all, so take a couple days to kick back and relax.
7. Journal
Not only is journaling good for clearing your mind, but it’s a way you can document your quarantine experience as a good memory to look back on in the future.
8. Have a Movie Marathon
Whether you have a movie in mind that you haven’t seen yet or are in the mood to re-watch your favorite series, now’s the perfect opportunity to do so.
9. Video Chat Your Loved Ones
Don’t deprive yourself of social interaction while you’re quarantined. You may not be able to socialize in person, but video chatting your friends and family is always a good way to brighten your day.
10. Draw or Color
Let your creative juices flow! Drawing and coloring are great activities for both kids and adults, too, as they can help you relax and generate mindfulness.
11. Go Through Old Pictures
You may have hundreds of photos to go through, both digital and physical. Go through these pictures and organize them for easier access in the future.
12. Do Some Financial Planning
Make great use of your time by planning out your finances. You can revamp your budget, create new savings goals or find new sources of income.
13. Rearrange Your Home
A popular quarantine activity is to rearrange your furniture and even do some home renovations. Give your space a fresh feel by mixing it up and making some much-needed changes around the house.
While this global pandemic has cancelled many concerts, sporting events, travel plans and other fun activities we’re used to, it’s opened a new door for self-improvement, fresh starts and creativity. Make your quarantine experience a positive one and try out a few of these activities while you’re home!
